A serious traffic collision involving three vehicles occurred on Thursday evening at the intersection of Millbrae Avenue and Stony Point Road in Millbrae. The incident, which took place around 7:39 PM, involved a dark gray Chevrolet Silverado, a gray Toyota Camry, and a silver Chevrolet Volt. Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene to manage the situation and provide assistance to those involved.

The collision resulted in significant damage to the vehicles, with the Chevrolet Volt and GMC Sierra sustaining major front-end damage. One individual was transported to Memorial Hospital for surgery due to severe injuries, while another was taken to Sutter Hospital with minor injuries. The northbound lane of Stony Point Road was temporarily blocked as authorities worked to clear the scene and ensure the safety of other motorists.

Towing services were called to remove the damaged vehicles, with Performance Towing, Creams Towing, and All Star Towing assisting in the recovery efforts. Motorists are advised to exercise caution when traveling through the area and to remain vigilant for any ongoing road closures or detours. Our thoughts are with those affected by this unfortunate incident, and we hope for their swift recovery.

Potential Legal Considerations

When someone is hurt because another person was careless, it’s called negligence. In these cases, the person who got hurt might have the right to get help or money from the person who was careless. This is important because it helps the injured person pay for things like medical bills or time they couldn’t work. To prove negligence, the injured person usually needs to show that the other person had a duty to be careful, didn’t do their duty, and that this caused the injury.

In a situation where a car accident happens, like the one described, the drivers involved have a duty to drive safely and follow traffic rules. If a driver doesn’t follow these rules and someone gets hurt, the injured person might be able to claim that the driver was negligent. This could mean the injured person can ask for money to help with their recovery. It’s important for the injured person to gather evidence, like witness statements or police reports, to support their claim.

Insurance can also play a big role in these situations. Most drivers have car insurance, which can help pay for damages or injuries. The injured person might need to file a claim with the insurance company of the person who was at fault. The insurance company will then investigate the accident and decide how much money should be given to help the injured person. It’s important for the injured person to keep track of all their expenses and communicate clearly with the insurance company to make sure they get the help they need.
