Hit-and-Run Incident on I-680 in Walnut Creek Leaves Multiple Injured
A hit-and-run collision involving three vehicles occurred on southbound I-680 near Olympic Boulevard in Walnut Creek at approximately 2:01 PM on August 29, 2024. The incident involved a gray Tesla, a gray Toyota Camry, and a Dodge Ram, resulting in injuries to several individuals, including an elderly woman who was seen crawling away from her vehicle.
Emergency services promptly responded to the scene, with lanes 1 and 2 initially blocked, causing significant traffic delays. Tow trucks from Bay Point Tow and John McHugh’s Towing were dispatched to clear the vehicles, and all lanes were reopened by 3:00 PM. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has classified the incident as a hit-and-run with injuries, and investigations are ongoing to locate the responsible party.
