Major Traffic Collision on US101 Leaves Driver Seriously Injured
In the early hours of August 28, 2024, a major traffic collision occurred on southbound US101 at the Lucas Valley Road onramp, resulting in serious injuries. The incident, involving a solo vehicle, was reported at approximately 1:03 AM. The vehicle, identified as a Toyota Camry, veered off the road and came to rest in a dirt field about 100 feet from the bus pad.
Emergency responders, including officers from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and medical personnel, were promptly dispatched to the scene. Officer Samorn, who was among the first responders, confirmed the severity of the injuries sustained by the driver. The front left tire of the vehicle was found flat, and the car required a wrecker for removal. The driver was transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.
